PROFESSIONAL WORK EXPERIENCE 2000 (10/7/00 - 22/12/00) I worked for I.C.Axon in Montreal as a tester in the Quality Assurance department, testing all aspect of web sites and CD ROM software for training within the medical industry. Worked closely with overall strategy planners, initial development teams, medical writers, graphic artists and programmers. 1999 (1/3/99 - 24/8/99) I worked in the Environmental Technology Group, TUHH on a project for the remote detection of hazardous vapours using FTIR spectrometry. I programmed the Analogue Devices Sharc Digital Signal Processor to control a scanning mirror and generate a heat image of the scanned area. 1997 (1/97 -6/97) I worked for Asia Pacific Breweries in Singapore and developed high-level graphical user interface for an office PC network to monitor and control the packaging hall lines. LANGUAGES German I studied for 3 years at university, worked for Oventrop in Olsberg for 2 months and then studied and worked in Hamburg for 6 months. Other I studied Spanish in my last year at university. I have standard grade French which I most recently used in Montreal. INTERESTS AND ACTIVITIES Sport I have recently taken up snowboarding and rediscovered golf. I play a wide range of sports including football, volleyball and tennis. I love camping and hiking and have completed the Speyside and West Highland ways. University I was class representative for two years. I was an ordinary committee member of the Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Society for two years before taking over as President for one year. Boys' Brigade I am currently Warrant Officer in the 1st Bearsden Boys' Brigade. My responsibilities involve running the drum class for pipe and bugle bands, coaching and managing of under 17s' football team, chief editor of newsletter, and squad challenge co-ordinator. As a boy I obtained both the President's and Queen's Badge Awards. Sailing I helm and crew a 505, two man trapeze sailing dingy, competing in races at Loch Lomond Sailing Club every weekend. I hold the Level 5 RYA Advanced Sailing Certificate and am also a RYA qualified dingy instructor. Travel I have travelled extensively, most notably, alone and independently for 3 months without aeroplane from Boonlay, Singapore to Bearsden, Scotland.
